FileLime

To my readers - I’m sorry for spamming the blog with lots of contest posts lately. I haven’t been touching the computer much lately - been mostly out and about. The only times I touch the computer, I check out for competitions and contests, my mail, and a few of my sites and jobs. Hopefully I’ll become less busy soon. But anyway, here’s a review of a FileLime.

FileLime is currently holding an iPod Touch Contest. All you have to do is to blog about it and write a short review of the site and you get a chance to win that beautiful 8GB iPod. Of course, I’ve been eying the iPod Touch ever since it was advertised, but hadn’t had much luck with the other contests that give it away yet. Hopefully this one’s my lucky one. :)

In any case, I’ve tested the site - uploading and downloading seems to be fast and easy - no obstructive ads, waiting time and stuff like that. The only fallback is the placement of the files. They all seem to be uploaded to /files/filename.ext - it offers little privacy to those who have uploaded their files. Even without a directory listing, I can probably easily write a program to upload 0 byte files that are of various filenames (even permuted filenames) to find out what files are currently being hosted. Files of the same name will be renamed to filename_01.ext. This is probably something that they can improve on. Perhaps a FAQ, About page, etc too.

Dinner time now.
And to quote The_End, cha cha ladies! ^^
